Performance: Ginkenshibu

2023.11.30

With the cooperation of Nippon Ginkenshibu Foundation, which promotes the traditional Japanese art form of Ginkenshibu, we are pleased to have them perform at the opening of Asia Philanthropy Congress 2023.

Ginkenshibu is a collective term for the traditional Japanese performing arts “Gin-ei” (recitation of classical Chinese and Japanese poetry) and “Ken-shibu” (Gin-ei recitation accompanied by dance).

Ken-shibu is a collective term for two types of dance – Ken-bu and Shi-bu – both of which are performed to accompany Gin-ei, which combine the formality of ancient martial arts with artistry expressing sentiments in poetry.

The Super Team, which will be performing this time, is Japan's premier unit of young stars, and has performed at the Nippon Budokan, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago and other venues that do not fit into the conventional framework of traditional performing arts, including the world-famous luxury cruise ship "The World" and the National Art Center, Tokyo. The performances attract a great deal of attention from all sides, as the attraction of Ginkenshibu is widely known.
We hope you will come and enjoy this performance at the venue on the day of the event!
